[O] links in orgtbl-to-html

In an html file, using orgtbl-mode, I am trying to use "install/send" a table that has hyperlinks inside it. I've tried using org-mode syntax: [[www.google.com]], and I've tried using html syntax <a href:"www.google.com">mylink</a>. Neither works as desired.

I'm assuming it is possible because because the documentation says orgtbl-to-html uses the same code as org-export-as-html, which *does* export links as desired in my experience.
