I don't think you can do this ... but you can use column view to overlay
the deadline on the agenda.

With this org file open
C-c C-c on the #+COLUMNS: line once to set the value
C-c a 1 a - goes to the agenda with only this file
C-c C-x C-c - start column view displaying deadlines
You can set this as your default agenda view with
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
(setq org-columns-default-format "%50ITEM %DEADLINE"
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
then you can use it in any agenda view to overlay the deadline details.
