hi tom! thx for this, but it seems to be the same thing that i have in
my initial post.

i was hoping not to have to break up the line into pieces.

i even tried putting escapes in:
http:\/\/gohere...
but that didn't work.

i guess orgmode doesn't leave the / inside [[][]] alone.
