    AFAICT, in ttys you can send a `C-_` to Emacs either by pressing
    `C-/` (e.g. xterm, uxterm, rxvt, xfce4-terminal, gnome-terminal)
    or by pressing `C--` (e.g. rxvt, Linux console).
