In theory you could install VSCode to install the plugins and then uninstall VSCode. But in practice, yes.
The basic problem is that nobody (else) seems to have shipped these language-servers in a more generalised and reusable way.
Which is really the core of my question: In that case, what would the Emacs stance be? - Do we accept that this is how world is right now, and are willing to apply that to our Eglot configs?
- Or would we rather wait it out and see if better stand-alone solutions emerge?
I’m ok with either answer, but I prefer to upstream patches when possible. If the answer is the latter, I just won’t be able to upstream these.
