These three work for me now, menu bars from a redisplay perspective, see
else-mail.

The reason why tab-bars acted weird for me was weird itself. I normally
build --without-ns and there was code in xdisp.c in #ifdef
HAVE_WINDOW_SYSTEM that was not executed in my build but was in a build
--with-ns, which I could verify in master when I found it :-(.
