This command isn't supposed to reindent the next line, it just inserts a newline. My main use for it is to move line(s) downward when point is in column zero. The 'o' in C-o stands for "open" a line.I see. Yes, that seems useful.Gregory, I don't think there's much point in doing this experiment -- the pushback is already substantial, so I think we have the data we need already.
That's unfortunate, but I see your point. A few voices who complain loudly without even trying things are, alas, enough to prevent progress.
The tenor of discussion in this thread has been shocking, though, with people ascribing nefarious motivations to Gregory's suggestion. Please stop doing this -- it makes this mailing list distinctly unfriendly.
