You mean that (selected-frame) != (window-frame)? That's an important invariant to preserve. We've had problems with this for years and I've worked pretty hard to fix them over the years (I've been tempted to remove the `selected_frame` variable and define SELECTED_FRAME on top of `selected_window` instead, but that's proved difficult in the `select-frame` and `select-window` code).
