It depends on what will be conclusions of the investigation.  Maybe it
will find some good reasons to do this even in Emacs 27, although I'd
be surprised.  But my point about the "hurry" was not about
postponing, it was that we shouldn't make the decision before we have
a good understanding of the problem beyond the specific issue with
.dir-locals.el
