There's not much point in creating a different function (or else it would have to come with its own set of global variables, and hence will require to duplicated some more code as well). Anyway, this is http://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=22983, where the ball is in Alan's court.

So far, it looks trivial to fix, code-wise.
