This issue is already fixed in master here: http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/emacs.git/commit/?id=2e4c2fe2787785a421f256541de642976e9bd90bAny GNU/Linux distribution that's shipping grep 2.20 or later should apply this patch to the Emacs they're shipping.
