Please feel free to ask your questions.  My suggestion would be to ask
here if the questions are general enough and not related to any
specific code.  Once you get to the stage where you have something
working that you aren't ashamed to publish, I suggest to submit it as
a patch to the bug tracker, and ask for review and specific advice
there.
