There's nothing wrong with that name,
but it's not what a user will think of.
What the mode normally does is put the text in color.
A user will think of typing M-x color TAB
to look for a name.
So I think it should have the name colorize-mode.
If it also has the name syntax-highlight-mode, that is fine too.
