Keeping Eli happy is imho a pretty important use case for the vcs used
by Emacs. No, really. We don't have many hard-core contributors.

I prefer git, but I think I get along pretty well with the git-bzr
bridge.

Perhaps it would be possible to use bzr on top of a git repo, such that
everyone can be happy?
