Wouldn't it be a good investment of your time to familiarize yourself with
it a bit?

It's a major piece of the emacs ecosystem, so it's useful to know what
it can do in order to make informed decisions about the future direction
of emacs.

And you may even find it useful in your own workflow if you get to know
it better.
