I had the same problem for a long time until finally I read that it stands
for
(I)nteractive (E)macs (L)isp (M)ode.
I don't think that mnemonic will help me remember, the next time I see
the name "IELM", what it means. It will probably be a year from now
and I will have had plenty of chance to forget.
