If this was in the last few years, I suspect it was never applied
because the X.org people really didn't care much about the old-style
Xlib: stability mattered much more for it than fixes to non-critical
bugs, given that the medium-term plan was to ditch the entire networking
and protocol layer of Xlib and migrate to XCB. These days (Xlib 1.4.x+),
everything goes through XCB, and a huge number of bugs have simply
vanished as a result. I strongly suspect that this is one of them.
