The implementation of the "superior" transparency has an annoying
glitch that it sometimes leaves "ghost letters" of the previous
contents on screen.  It is ridiculous to include such a premature
implementation recklessly in the release version, whereas the
alpha-component support in the other platforms (notably GNU/Linux) is
unimplemented yet.
