23.0.60; 100%CPU failing to read mail file

Subject: 23.0.60; 100%CPU failing to read mail file

As of yesterday evening with the latest CVS (just undated minutes ago)
when I attempt to start emacs and read in my RMAIL file (which is
about 99Mb) it queries the size and then goes into 99%CPU usage and
does not respond to ^G or anything else. I am forced to kill the
process. I have tried with -q and get the same result.

This message is sent from an older version of emacs which is only
partially working on account of the changed in btye-coded compiled
bits.
