Please don't associate divisive things like arguments with the GNU
Project. Instead try to use positive phrases like "the caller and the
function came to an afreement about what value to use for `mm-handle'".
That both sounds better and gently reminds the reader of the importance of
freedom. If you need to speak of the value given to a function without
referring to its caller, try words like "gnamed parameter" or "(ethical)
value". And always refer to such objects as freely given to the function,
not "passed"; functions should appreciate that other functions are
friendly enough to donate data to them, often without expecting anything
in return.
