Just a reminder, I guess, with another example of why this should eventually
be fixed.
I'm coming back to this thread from 2005/03/21. I think we all agreed to
worry about this later, and that 1) programs should somehow be able to
search for and see metadata (such as Note: and Menu: tags), but that 2)
users searching Info should not find such tags (they can always find them
using the appropriate Info commands, such as Info-next-reference).
I was just trying to find information on menus in the Elisp manual, and I
was reminded about how important #2 is above. The information on menus is in
several different places in the manual. It is impractical to search for
"menu", however, because you hit all of the Menu: tags. It would really be
helpful to have this fixed somehow, after the release.
