I tried while-no-input, but it doesn't work as intended.
Inside a long loop matching a regexp with nested repetition operators
only C-g quits the body, not any key.
The simplest example demonstrating this:
(while-no-input (string-match "<\\( *\\)+>" "< "))
But in other cases it works well, e.g.
(while-no-input (while t))
quits when any key is typed.
