Since Emacs 21 was release the var:
completion-ignored-extensions
has had
CVS/
in the path as well as now
.svn/
However this has never worked. The 'CVS' dir still shows up during
completion which is a bit annoying.
the extension is the file extension not the path and since a directory
doesn't have an extension its never matched.
Seems like a glitch.
I assume I could use completion-regexp-list... wonder what the
performance would be like here.
