[I apologize if i have somehow screwed up my installation, and seem
to be findign so many bugs when there are none.. if that is so, can
someone let me know? thansk]
Does anyone else see this bug in CVS: (today's)
Do an emacs -q -no-site-file and:
(sexp-at-point) always returns nil.
This results from (read-from-whole-string) failing with this
backtrace:
,----
|
| Debugger entered--Lisp error: (error "Can't read whole string")
| signal(error ("Can't read whole string"))
| error("Can't read whole string")
| read-from-whole-string("(+ 2 3)")
| eval((read-from-whole-string "(+ 2 3)"))
| eval-expression((read-from-whole-string "(+ 2 3)") nil)
| call-interactively(eval-expression)
|
`----
What is bizarre, is: i now load thingatpt.el and then try again.. the
bug is gone. Then i load thingatpt.elc and try again, and the bugs
reappear.
Moreover, 'diff -cw thingatpt.el-emacs21.2.1 thingatpt-cvs.el' returns
nothing. And sexp-at-point works fine in 21.2.1. So, the bug is
somehow in the compilation... (Or has this cvs-newbie screwed up the
cvs installation?)
