People want to send input to compilers because sometimes the compiler
asks questions.  This is a bizarre thing for a compiler to do, and it is
best that the compiler never ask, but some compilers do ask.  So people
have asked for and worked on features to send the compiler input.
I think that it is best if input can be sent just by typing it in,
with no need to know a special command.
