Follow-up Comment #2, sr #106538 (project duplicity):

(Gah, I always forget to specify versions.)

Using 0.4.10 (on Ubuntu 8.04 64-bit), which is no doubt the problem.
Apparently 0.4.12 is only available in Ubuntu 8.10, and 0.5.0 hasn't made it
into the repositories at all.

I was doing a full backup, incidentally.
