Follow-up Comment #2, bug #21646 (project duplicity):

Let me know if you want feedback/input from me. I checked the CVS logs and it
seems my patches and your changes were applied in the same commit, so I can't
easily extract your changes isolated. Havng them separate would help to spot
the problem.

Or if you have a suspicion as to in what sense the patches are affecting each
other feel free to let me know. I don't want to make life more difficult for
you by my patches...
