hi Tarmo,
that is known issue but currently without a solution. support for fragmented
signatures has still to be hacked into duplicity. the issue comes up from time
to time here on the mailing list, there were some workarounds, you might wanna
search the archives.
you might consider splitting your backup in to smaller portions of your
filesystem.
