Ah, now I feel foolish. I somehow missed that critical feature of the program...

I tested the restore and it worked fine. Thanks for the reply.

this looks healthy.. you enabled synchronous encryption via setting PASSPHRASE="", hence your backup ends up encrypted as gpg files on the backend. what is your perceived problem?
were you unable to restore your backup?
