I'll look forward to the upgrade coming through debian and ubuntu for 0.6.19.

I'm not exactly sure how to "downgrade" using apt-get. I'm not sure what the previous version was on Ubuntu, so I'll probably have to wait for 0.6.19.

Is there a new ssh backend file I can just replace while I wait for ubuntu to catch up?

    Thanks,
        geoff

I have been using duply and duplicity for a while now on Ubuntu.

I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 which includes 0.6.18 and this seems to have broken
the ssh backend with the new paramiko.

if I run the command "duplicity full /home/geoff ssh://localhost/tmp/bar" I get
the following error:

BackendException: ssh connection to localhost:22 failed: Unknown server
localhost

if I run the command "duplicity full /home/geoff ssh://127.0.0.1/tmp/bar" I get
the same error.

This is not a problem with resolving the host name.

this was an issue with known_host configuration. should be fixed in 0.6.19

so either
1. upgrade
or
2. downgrade to the version that worked for you
