Subject: | [Duplicity-talk] can't build on centos 5 |

Hi all, I’m trying to install duplicity on Centos 5.4. I installed the librsync 0.9.7-2 rpm for RHEL x86_64 rpm
from DAG. If I download the 0.6.06 tarball and run setup.py install, I
get: … running build_ext building 'duplicity._librsync' extension creating build/temp.linux-x86_64-2.4 gcc -pthread -fno-strict-aliasing -DNDEBUG -O2 -g -pipe
-Wall -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fexceptions -fstack-protector
--param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -m64 -mtune=generic -D_GNU_SOURCE -fPIC -fPIC
-I/usr/include/python2.4 -c _librsyncmodule.c -o
build/temp.linux-x86_64-2.4/_librsyncmodule.o gcc -pthread -shared
build/temp.linux-x86_64-2.4/_librsyncmodule.o -lrsync -o
build/lib.linux-x86_64-2.4/duplicity/_librsync.so /usr/bin/ld: /usr/local/lib/librsync.a(buf.o): relocation

object; recompile with -fPIC /usr/local/lib/librsync.a: could not read symbols: Bad value collect2: ld returned 1 exit status error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1 Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Kevin |
