No it's not that at all.  Some of the dependencies also seem to be
unavailable as RPMs, and I seem to have atrophied to the (st)age where
I no longer do things like getting a pristine tarball and install from
scratch!  My problem (or Mandriva's, at most) entirely, I assure you.
