Follow-up Comment #1:

I've done a change for this issue in link.c that is more flexible.
If the name starts with lib and ends with .dll then cut of these parts.
Additionally cut off all including the first dash following the last point.
Use this name for the libary search. Two special cases are left: gdk-win32
and gtk-win32 are mapped to gdk-x11 or gtk-x11. The real mapping is done
through pinvoke.map.
