Hi,
I'm currently changing the course of DG-Base a bit (more info on this is in a
mail I send to the DG dev list), one important change is the opening of the lib
for P/Invoking classes. With these new options in mind I'd like to make a
proposal: "Let's merge all base libs in DG-Libs into DG-Base." This basically
comes down to merging dotgnu.xml, dotgnu.pm, dotgnu.rpc and dotgnu.sql in
DG-Base.
I believe that there are many benefits to having one DotGNU base lib instead of
5. One benefit is bigger visibility to potential contributors. Another is that
it becomes easier for a user to install a more or less complete DotGNU system
since there are only 2 libraries needed instead of 6. Also configuration is
easier because configure only has to be called one time. Since (obviously) the
admin of a merged base lib becomes a DG-Base admin it's easier to admin the base
libs (the amount of work for a single admin will go down because a lot of admin
work only has to be done once instead of 5 times).
So what do you think?
Greetings,
Peter
