It is possible that the directory scanning routines in "support/dir.c" aren't
working, or got #ifdef'ed out because of platform differences. Does your
system have <dirent.h>? Try putting some printf's in "ILOpenDir",
"ILReadDir", etc, to see what path is being taken. Without direct access to
a Solaris 9 box, it will be difficult for me to debug this long distance, but
it is probably something simple whatever it is.
