I saw the following like in ECMA 334 XML (Int16 page, MinValue section):
"The value of this constant is -32,768 (hexadecimal 0X8000)."
so I figured I could use (Int16.MinValue == 0X8000).
Btw the stuff works with explicit casts like you said, thanks.
