I'll represent DotGNU at a roundtable discussion at Zurich
University (main building, lecture hall KOL-H-312) on
Thursday Jan 31, 17:00-19:00.

Besides DotGNU, the companies Netcetera, Microsoft, SUN and IBM
will also be represented.

The theme is "Challenges and Opportunities for Interop
[regarding Web Services]".

Some of the questions that will be discussed include:

- what is the untimative vision for web services?

- what are the plans for working against the proliferation of
  webs ervices standards?

- is there a committment to KISS (Keep it simple, stupid)?

- how can platform vendors differentiate themselves if
  everything is standardized?

- how to you estimate the survival chances of W3C?

- why webservices and not CORBA / COM / RMI?

- business models for web services?

- is there customer lock-in in the area of web services?

What are your views on these issues?

Also, if you have a question that you feel that e.g. Microsoft
or Sun should be asked in a public setting, please let me know...
I may get a chance to ask it.

Greetings, Norbert.
