Meet the DotGNU Crew in 2002 at LinuxWorld NYC

Here is your chance to meet many of the key people behind organizing the
DotGNU effort in January 2002. A special DotGNU panel is being held as
part of this year's LinuxWorld in NYC, on January 30th. This panel will
offer the community an opportunity to hear from and question those
involved in forming DotGNU.

The panel will include David Sugar, who chairs the DotGNU steering
committee, as well as steering committee members Bradley Kuhn and Barry
Fitzgerald. This will also provide a direct opportunity for the
community to participate in and discuss DotGNU with those that are
directly shaping it's purpose and direction.

As DotGNU is a FSF and FreeDeveloper's Net sponsored project, Bradley, who
happens also to be the VP of the FSF will be able to explain the FSF's
broader role and interest in promoting a free software alternative to
Microsoft's .NET, as well as the purpose and need for providing a ECMA
spec compliant platform on free software.

Also present will be Tony Stanco, founder of the FreeDeveloper's Network.
Tony will be able to explain how and why DotGNU was started as a
FreeDevelopers project and how it evolved into it's present form.
FreeDevelopers continues to be a major contributor to the success of
DotGNU and related efforts.

David Sugar, who happens to be the CTO of FreeDevelopers, a founder of
Open Source Telecom, and maintainer of many GNU packages, will, along with
Barry Fitzgerald, speak about the technical challenges in DotGNU, as
well as the philosophical aspects of the project as free software.

The DotGNU Panel at LinuxWorld NYC will be held on January 30th at 2:30pm.
Other panels and opportunities to meet members of the DotGNU steering
committee will be available all year long on three continents, with plans
for Rhys Weatherley, founder of Southern Storm and developer of
Portable.NET, to address next year's the Linux Conference in Brisbane, and
a possible DotGNU presentation with Norbert Bollow of Switzerland at
next year's Libre Software Meeting in France.
