Sure, this was why I asked, and didn't just go and create one :)

Is the DFEY here to promote "free software" from a social perspective,
where the user's freedom is the main focus, or are we here to promote
"open source" from a technical perspective where the proprietary software
model is simply sub-optimal to the open source software model.

Or, I don't know, maybe we're here for a bit of both?

This is something that needs debating at some point, I am happy to do this now however, staying on topic for a second:

Should we instead be discussing the data portability aspects of Facebook?

or does facebook being free software solve it - after all gmail messes with it's user's data quite a lot too...
