Follow-up Comment #11:
OK, I think I understand. The Playback View requires access to the
actions/lilypond directory at run time to find "live-score.ily", but the path
it looks for it is set at configure time by the --prefix command to
./configure. It means that for this to work the make install step has to be
performed (most things work without the executable being moved to the correct
place).

/home/blackcat/denemo/denemo-2.2.0/usr/bin/lilypond
in the original submission it is clear that the package is not installed in
the location it was built for and hence Playback View will not work properly.
