Can you please run these two command lines when you have the denemo (The latest link I sent you) on the desktop.
rm -rf ~/.denemo*
~/Desktop/Denemo.app/Contents/MacOS/denemo.sh &> ~/Desktop/denemo_errors.txt

Then I need you to email the denemo_errors.txt file that is now on your desktop.

I'm going to need a little help making sure I'm in the right location prior to executing the terminal commands.

  • The Denemo icon is in my Mac Finder's Deskop
  • I can get to the denemo.sh by doing the following:
    • Right-click on the Denemo icon (on my Finder's Desktop), and click on Show Package Contents
    • Open the folder, Contents
    • Open the folder MacOS
    • denemo.sh is in the MacOS folder

Based on that, please provide the appropriate change directory commands to posiition me in the right location before I execute the Terminal commands.

Kind regards,

Can you send me the terminal output so that I know why lilypond is not working.
First delete your .denemo. That is in your home folder hidden. Delete it like this:
rm -rf ~/.denemo*

denemo.sh &> ~/Desktop/denemo_error.txt

Thanks,
Jeremiah

Just tried the new link that Jeremiah provided.

  • Double-clicked on Denemo, and the app crashed
  • Launched via Terminal,  /Users/anthonyventura/ Desktop/Denemo.app/Contents/ MacOS/denemo.sh, and still seeing INVALID! try Score check. My few measure check out fine

We'll keep trying...

I did not realize I had two files with similar names. Use the more recent one. I will take the old one down.

Richard,

I'm very happy to be a part of the Mac testing. Let's keep persisting and we'll get this figured out.

yes, my question is once opened "successfully" does it actually work -
does it do the things it says in Help->Manual it does?

If it does, I suspect we are very close to a solution. Jeremiah just has
to figure out how to put an icon "Denemo" on your desktop that runs
denemo.sh on double clicking.

I'm referring to the folders created by Denemo when you start to use it.
Since you have had bad versions of Denemo starting and crashing these
may be a hindrance. However, if Denemo is working (as defined above)
then don't worry about seeking and destroying them.

For some versions of Mac the answer is no, there are bug reports

e.g
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/ ?49461

which you are helping to fix. The problem is that no-one creating the
program for Mac actually has a Mac to test on, so it is quite a
challenge to create it correctly.

Thank you for persisting!

Richard
