Jeremiah - I just downloaded
http://denemo.org/downloads/denemo-0.9.6~rc3.tar.gz
on to my new, clean Debian stable system (after installing all the build
dependencies) and I get this from a plain ./configure:

config.status: error: cannot find input file: `libsmf/Makefile.in'
