You were correct!

In fact I didn't see any of the aforementioned options. But after deleting
the .denemo folder and a clean start all the previously hidden options
suddenly appeared. I'm quite surprised of how many options were missing.

Thanks for the help, the workaround obviously worked very well, although only
you can know what actually happened. This was in fact a brand new
installation, so I can't tell you how I "broke" .denemo.
