Follow-up Comment #1:

To build a program such as Denemo, you have to install the "automake-1.9" and
"autoconf", then "build-essential" package and several graphical library
headers ("libgtk2.0-dev, "libglib2.0-dev" ...) into your system.
Try this:
$ sudo apt-get install automake-1.9 autoconf build-essential libgtk2.0-dev
libglib2.0-dev

this is a starting point: other libraries are required for audio.
