This might be a GDB bug.

Run GDB from the command line and enter the same command. If it generates the same error, file a bug report against the version of GDB you are using.

Note that you got a warning message:
  Missing separate debuginfos, use: debuginfo-install
  glibc-2.17-260.el7_6.3.x86_64

Just using dds normally. This problem is happening now very frequently.

I open ddd then I type something in the text interface (like b xxxx, or c...etc...), the segmentation fault will happen.  It can happen right away or after using ddd for a little bit. But the text interface get frozen as well.

I also have the following message when staring ddd:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/net/lebhomes03/dev3/helasrag/ANSYSdev/vNNN/fluent/fluent/lnamd64/syslib/libstdc++.so.6.0.22-gdb.py", line 60, in <module>
     from libstdcxx.v6 import register_libstdcxx_printers
ImportError: cannot import name register_libstdcxx_printers

     from libstdcxx.v6 import register_libstdcxx_printers
ImportError: cannot import name register_libstdcxx_printers

Internal error (Segmentation fault).
