a compile problem about DDD

Hi, all
    I try to compile ddd-3.3.1 (the latest version). my machine is runing
    Linux 9.0 and gcc 3.2. I meet such an error. Some one meets the same
    error and how to correct it. Thank in advance.

strclass.C: In function `std::istream& operator>>(std::istream&, string&)':
