No clean CVS checkout works for me compiled with gcj 3.0.
(gcj 3.1 from CVS seems to miscompile some if statement,
yuck - have to investigate this).
But I suspect that if something "hangs" it could be the retry later code
in loadScheduledClasses. Try adding some debug output there.
