I have followed all of the rules in README-hacking,
but once I get to `make` I get the error:

aclocal-1.15: error: aclocal: file 'm4/pthread.m4' does not exist

So, I looked at the m4 directory and saw that `pthread.m4
- building requires m4/pthread.m4,
