About cc and dd

Dear Coreutils,

Hello, please let me Introduce my self.
My name is Amin Aenurahman, I am from Indonesia and I’m studying on Telkom 
University.

Currently I’m finishing my Final Task about Different method of Copy, Cloning 
and Imaging which must be used in Digital Forensics.
To finish my study, I have to make a paper about that.

I have been looking to your code :

2. https://github.com/coreutils/coreutils/blob/master/src/dd.c

If you don't mind, can you tell me how cp and dd works, just in summary, or 
maybe can tell me from which line thats code work?
