FYI,
I was tempted to remove this rule altogether, since
test scripts no longer have to be executable.
However, it's not that expensive and does serve to
ensure consistency, and as a useful cross-check.

There was a non-negligible delay after running a single test.
Now, you'll know why when you see this test's name.
* tests/check.mk (vc_exe_in_TESTS): Don't @-hide commands.
Use $(AM_V_GEN) instead.
